Hi @Reese

Can you mark as solved.

Thanks

Okay, I’ll mark as solved. A fix is being tested and hopefully will be released soon.

Question to the users with the issue: Do you perhaps eject and reconnect the drive before Sync Manager is used?

Hey folks,

There is a new desktop version out (3.1.1) which we believe has solved this issue.

Hi,

Running 3.1.1 on macbook pro and SC6k players.

I am unsure if my issue is user error or not. SC6k w internal SSD drive. Playlists I create on the players do not sync back to the engine DJ library on macbook.

  1. Create playlists on player in course of routine operation.
  2. Connect player to MBP via USB - enter into computer mode.
  3. Select “sync manager” in Engine DJ
  4. select “sync to engine DJ”
  5. Data is transferred
  6. Eject SSD thru Engine DJ Drives panel.

Playlists do not appear within “collection” stored on Macbook. Also unable to again “sync to Engine DJ” (as data apparently already exported).

Am I missing something here?

thx

Question - was it working this way prior to update?

Hi Mufasa,

Thanks for the reply.

Unfortunately I am unable to confirm this. I have only had the SC6k players for about a month now and this is my first time attempting to bring playlists off the SSD inside the unit into EngineDJ on the MBP.

I am wondering if a full wipe of the EDJ library both on my MBP and on the SSD in the player is needed.

To the best of my knowledge, it has never been a feature.

There should be a feature request topic for it if you search the forums.

Thanks for this information.

Just so I am clear:

The synchronisation of playlists between EngineDJOS and the EngineDJ library stored within the unit SSD is a ONE-WAY sync. i.e playlists created on my SC6k players will not sync back to the EDJ library stored on the MBP?

This surprises me as I had interpreted Denon’s language on the topic differently:

“The Sync Manager tool allows you to quickly sync playlists and performance data between your Engine Library and your external storage drive.”

I had assumed this meant a TWO-WAY sync.

Is there any way to export the playlists on the SC6K players as XML files etc so that I can rebuild them?

Many thanks all!!

I may be wrong but I believe

Computer → Sticks/internal SSD for cue/loops AND playlists

Sticks/internal SSD → computer for cue/loops only

I can’t say for certain how it bevies re: playlists but in sync manager there is an option to ‘sync to Engine Dj’… but you need to do this BEFORE synchronising anything to the drive, otherwise you’ll overwrite any changes you made on the device. Try creating a playlist then attach to your computer and choose that option first, then see if it adds it.

YES YES YES I HAD NO DOUBT DENON WAS GOING TO TAKE CARE OF THIS ISSUE. EVERYTHING IS WORKING NOW 3.1.1.0 DID THE JOB…LETS SEE WHAT IS NEXT STEM FOR PRIME 4? HEY WE NEVER KNOW :grinning:

My two cents: we’re not supposed to have to do this or even know how to do this. DJs spin or play music to entertain people. If they wanted to be IT guys they’d do that. I own cars that I drive, I’m expected to put gas in them but I’m not expected to be a mechanic.

And you still can. If you stick to vinyl or CD’s. But here you are… buying the most modern DJ equipment yet not wanting to learn anything new :face_with_spiral_eyes:

Please take your 2 cents back. You cannot drive a car without a licence eg. learning a shait lot more than to put gas into it.

You’re making me wish a DJ licence would also be required before purchasing modern DJ gear.

Chump, that’s why I spend the money for the very best so I don’t have to spend time doing shait like this. You can display your tech skills and whatever floats your boat… all I want is the experience I paid for…I don’t want to be a technician. Your reference to vinyl makes no sense whatsoever because it was the flaws in yesterday’s tech that caused todays leaps in technology. You slay yourself… Your OPINIONS did nothing, but you’ll probably think so. My position: Do not be moved by snide remarks by idiots who think they’re witty - Shinehead.

Well, a LOT of modern cars have a ton more bugs\software issues than Denon gear :joy:

Actually, in the UK, you are actually required to have basic mechanical skills in order to drive a car… it’s called a theory test and includes basic maintenance and understanding of the vehicle.

Anyway, back on topic… you buy a complex pice of computing equipment to DJ on, you have to at least accept some responsibility to keep it in premium condition for performing the task its built for, just like many standard computers.

I see some chumps still haven’t learned that no matter how much money they spend on gear, it will not make them a better DJ if you don’t learn how to use it.

Technician…:joy::joy::joy::joy:

Reasonable response. I’m not required to have that mechanical knowledge in the US, but your point is well taken. So you understand where I’m coming from or you may choose not to: I also own what some people consider to be very expensive cars and a smart home. There are tech’s who come out to maintain and service. I built or paid for my Den/man cave to have the latest tech. For everything I own, I have people who set up or maintain them. I’m not a DJ. For me it’s a hobby. I make a decent enough living running a $Billion company to buy and enjoy what I want. While I’m not averse to tweaking a few settings, what was described earlier that I responded to was something I considered then and now to be a bit much for the capital outlay. When you buy the very best equipment it’s supposed to perform as such. Ferraris and Porsches have a maintenance schedule. If there’s a malfunction, I’m not spending copious hrs removing parts or trying to diagnose the issue. I call the dealer, they pick it up and return it when fixed. I consider Denon to be among the Porsches in there respective field, fair point? I have owned Denon audio equipment for years. I recently discovered the DJ side and decided to try it. I’m not currently having any issues with mine (2×6000M & 2 LCs + 1850). Hopefully by telling you this you’ll understand better why I feel the way I do. Again I’m ok with minor tweaking of settings. There’s a reason why I have a whole IT division for maintaining the computers in my organization.
