A Mojaxx video I think everyone would benefit from

Some very useful information here, especially given how many threads there are around the subject.

Thanks for sharing. I saw the video on YouTube but ignored it. By you sharing it, I decided to watch it. Very informative, and timely, as I’m in the process of backing up one of my drives and formatted it as MS-DOS to make it more universally compatible. Sounds like I could’ve bumped it up to EXFAT and reduced the back up time tremendously (I re-started the back-up process and did just that).

Thanks again!

Cheers!

I would still stay away from SD cards for loads of reasons.

My main library is a 512GB SD and I’ve been using it for nearly a year issue free. The form factor (size) is the main reason I use it, but I do carry an external SSD for back up.

All my USB-Sticks and SD-Cards are SanDisk. Price/Qualitiy are the best for me imo.

Randomly all my old MacBooks has SanDisk SSD’s working flawless over 10 years with has absolutely nice health states.

For the Prime GO, i have an SanDisk Ultra Fit for don’t protruding parts at the back and an SanDisk Ultra PLUS for Backup at the same time.

That DJ TechTools Sticks seems fast, but wich Nand-Quaility in it ?.

Notice that let a lot of free Space at Flash-Drives for flawless work. Full Nands are deadly.

I’m with you on this. SanDisk SD’s, USB’s and Crucial SSD’s are my weapons of choice. Never go el-cheapo on your storage!

SanDisk all day long, But prefer USB over SD for the heat distribution and they don’t (IME) Sit inside the init gathering heat from the init.

Regarding external drives, I’m using a MacBook Air M1 and sometimes my exFat drives take a lot of time to mount, or don’t mount at all. And I’m not talking about Engine, just the OS.

One SSD is formated in APFS and I use it as storage (no problems with this one)

Another SSD (same model) is formated exFat so I can use it with Denon hardware and often it has issues mounting.

Same with another USB thumb drive in exFat.

Has anyone else experienced similar issues?

Having the exact same issue, I always assumed it was the drive I was using for Prime, as that was the largest drive, but tbh it hasn’t been on to the decks for weeks, and I’m still having it.

It’s macOS and seems to be fixed in 15.2

It seems the same problem as everytime, that update any software too fast. I’ve gotten into the habit of letting things prove themselves before I use them.

I use SD cards since 2016. Never had a smallest issue. Just don’t buy the cheapest ones…

None of those matter if the card interface doesn’t take advantage.
