4.1 Bug: for newly added tracks, old ones are deleted

After updating to 4.1 Windows Desktop I have the following problem: I use an external hard drive for my collection. If I now add a new track via drag & drop into an existing playlist, the track is not simply added, but an old existing track is replaced and deleted from the database. The track is no longer available in the entire collection. I first noticed this on 2 tracks. I then had to find out which tracks had been deleted by the engine software and added them back. That worked, my playlist grew by 2 tracks. I thought maybe this was a bug that would be fixed by restarting Engine. But that’s not it. I then pushed additional tracks into the playlist and in each case Engine deleted the same number of old tracks from the collection. This is a huge problem. Does anyone know this?

As you can see, there are 5059 positions in my playlist. If I add another track it would have to be 5060. But they aren’t. After the analysis, my new track was placed at position 4762 and not 5060. The total number of the playlist remained at 5059. In this case, position 4764 was deleted from the collection. How is this possible?

looks like a copy paste mistake you are making. why don’t you drag the new song onto your queue and not onto a song?

This is not a copy & paste error. I’ve been dragging and dropping my new songs into an alphabetically ordered playlist for years. Engine has always ranked the song and given it the newest, last position in the playlist.

I downgraded to 4.01 and the error still persists. The update to 4.1 may have damaged the entire database due to new parameters. Only by deleting and rebuilding the database will everything be OK again with version 4.01. Luckily I was able to do this because I work with an external hard drive. I can only recommend this to everyone. Unfortunately, I can only warn against version 4.1 at this point. These so-called database optimizations are obviously not yet sophisticated.

I can’t make a new video. I downgraded to 4.01 and deleted the database so it worked again. The problem was that Engine no longer added a new song, but swapped it with an old one. This can also be seen in my bad video. Below you can see the total number of tracks in my playlist, 5059. After adding the track it stays at 5059. That can’t be the case. Unfortunately, this software is not fully developed.
