2.5 inch Sata SSD internal storage hard drive

Well, I would say that since the SSD has a SATA connection and not PCIe, which is limited to 6GBs, it doesn’t matter which SSD you use. However, for greater data security and integrity, I would use a Pro version.

Since the SATA bus bandwidth is limited to 600 MB/s anyway, the performance differences between models are relatively minimal. However, what’s important is to choose a model with a DRAM cache, as this can significantly speed up data access.

For example, Crucial’s BX series doesn’t have a DRAM cache, while the MX series does.

The same is true for Samsung with the Evo series (without a DRAM cache) and the Pro series (with a DRAM cache).

The SSD-Tester website has always been my go-to resource when comparing performance and price when buying storage devices.

Would using a m2 ssd in a sata housing be beneficial?

Or are you limited to speeds of the adapters housing?

Using an M2 SSD in a SATA adapter will not make any major difference as you will be limited to the maximum throughput of 600 MB/s of the SATA port which will act as a bottleneck.

Thought as much :+1:
