after the update to 2.4 I encountered the following:
When I set the Cue Point somewhere near the start of a track, the beat number sometimes doesn’t become ‘1’ but 17 or 33 or any other number. I can set the cue way into the song and then the first downbeat is labeled 1.
Did you import the track from Serato?
Actually I did. But there have been hundreds of tracks been worked on in 2.3.2 without that ‘problem’. It started with 2.4…
It’s a long standing thing perhaps you are only just noticing it. I use serato as well.
It’s reproducible easily by following these steps
Download a new track or duplicate one of your old tracks.
Enter grid edit mode in Serato
place the red downbeat grid marker somewhere further into the track
Import your new track into Engine with the serato library feature
Export track to USB
Test track on Engine device
It recreates the issue you raised.
Ha, thanks. But I don’t want to reproduce it. I like it to be fixed ;~] But in the end I don’t care for the little numbers as I know where the song starts…
Well you raised it as a bug in 2.4 that’s why I was making it clear that this has been there since 2017/8
Sure I would like it fixed as well. It’s a bit confusing.
The workaround is to reanalyse the tracks in Engine DJ desktop but that will be a new grid.
