They have huge center deadzones (though I assume the reset/zero LED at least turns on when manually in it) and a sizable deadzone at the bottom of the pitch fader. And the hifi GR, limited edition audiophile GAE, and mass production audiophile G apparently all have this issue, and then you add the non-DJ DSP motor controller that prevents you from predictably dragging & nudging on the platter itself like you can on the VL12 and mk7.
If you’re going to drag & nudge on the record itself or just ride the pitch fader and want an awesome tonearm, I’d rather get a Hanpin and put a Rega or SME tonearm on it. It’d still probably come out cheaper. The W&F probably wouldn’t be quite as good as the new Technics, unless you got a DSP-controlled new model Reloop, but it’s not as if the W&F of a 1200mk2 modified to mix on (which the VL12 and mk7’s motors are tuned to be like) had that great of W&F after reducing its torque.
