Unable to sync Prime 4 internal drive since update to 4.0

I literally have the exact same issue, but SC Live 4, not Prime 4.

Thank you, I downgraded to engine 3.4 on both my SC Live 4 and on the PC. Hopefully this takes care of it and makes my headache go away. This is now day 4 (like 18 hours per day) syncing my library to my SD card. If this fixes it. I’ll be happy to cash app you a drink.

I have downgraded from 4.0 on the Mac desktop to 3.4. Kept 4 on the Prime 4. Synch still corrupting any databases connected, no matter whether internal on Mac, Prime 4 or SSD, USB… So Synch Manager is unusable at the moment until Denon provides a fix or comes up with some way to fix so called “corrupt” databases.

If I drag and drop new music files and folders/playlists from desktop to external drives and Prime 4 that works. Therefore the culprit must be synch manager as far as I can see…

Same here. Engine DJ works on my Mac, but fails to sync with prime 4 internal HD or SD card. After rebuilding the entire library it started working again, but after a few days the problem came back. Very frustrating.

All I can get from Denon support is a boilerplate troubleshooting email with common things to try, but they dont work.

I have rebuilt all my playlists and re analysed all tracks, reformatted external drives and on the first Sync on V 4.0 it finishes and then tells me the database is corrupt… Have exhausted all possibilities to use sync manager on version 4.0 as it breaks every database on every drive. Now lost all cue points so whole database is back to square one. VERSION 4 SYNCH MANAGER IS BROKEN. If you are thinking of upgrading to 4.0 please don’t, stick with 3.4 until Denon fixes it. I am an original Prime 4 User and this is the worst Engine desktop software has been. Denon - Stop adding new “toys” please and just fix the reliability of the database! Most of us DJs just need to be able to load music without spending days troubleshooting.

Does anybody know if this is getting addressed and will be fixed anytime soon, or do we have to wait for the next scheduled full release in a few months and hope that it works?

Same here with Denon support, a few e-mails stating the obvious and nothing more. While many users, including myself, have reported these issues, it seems that there hasn’t been an official acknowledgment or detailed resolution plan from Denon DJ. Let’s hope they provide more updates soon.

So yeah, terrible upgrade with deal-breaking issues. Even though stuff like this happens all the time with any software, the apparent lack of action or even clear, useful communication from support makes the situation critical.

I’ve lost too many hours and days in trial and error hoping to sort things out, thinking there might be something wrong with my hardware, USBs, library, tracks, etc., only to realize I’m not alone and that buggy software is at fault.

Before anyone jumps in saying that no one forced me to upgrade to 4.0, well, you are expected to do so, and you do at your own risk knowing there might be quirks. It’s just that you also expect them to be either minor or fixed at least within a couple of weeks of release.

Finally, I also downgraded to 3.4 but problems persisted. Furthermore, I got a dreadful issue that wasn’t there before, in which I could not seem to remove a song from my Engine collection without it getting completely deleted from my hard drive. But in this case, I think it might be a strange issue affecting just a few users like myself, because many others responded that it doesn’t happen to them.

I wish we didn’t have to rant or troll in here, but the fact that we do is in part because of frustration and a desperate effort to get our work tools fixed and functional again.

I have a ticket with Denon support - latest response “Thank you for confirming the behavior and sharing your log files. I have forwarded them to the Engine developers for analysis.

I will provide their feedback once we have an update to share.”

If I hear of any fix I will post on here. However it will probably be via a 4.1 update I assume.

From Denon Support- They have acknowledged that 4.0 has an issue. Now just need to wait for the fix…

“We have been able to successfully reproduce the behavior you have reported in house. Engine 4.0 seems to have inconsistencies when exporting files. The exact cause is still under investigation.

I am unable to give a specific release date for the build with the fix, but rest assured that we are actively working on resolving the behavior.

In the meantime, users have reported rolling back the Engine Desktop software to 3.4 seems to work as intended. You can even leave your Engine hardware running 4.0 without rolling back Engine OS to 3.4.”

Ugh this issue just started happening and I have a gig tonight ugghhhhh Engine DJ why. Its not even working in lexicon thats how badly they butchered the library in 4.0

Yeah. Still the only way to have it work is to have 4.0 on the hardware, but stick to 3.4 on the software… It’s about two and a half months now with no sign of a proper fix, just this workaround.

I have the sc live4 and it doesnt seem to work well with that combo… at least the export is super slow… they still have no update yet?

So I see 4.0.1 is out now… Has anyone tried to see if it fixes the issue yet? I don’t want to update until I know it’s working…

Still on 3.x version. Looks like I won’t update to 4.x anytime soon.

Was unhappy with Pioneer, and now Denon ? Please do not offer updates who are not tested by all key persons, whoever they are, from A to Z.

This update 4.0.1 is only for bug fixes, or I’m using it without problems for now, but yesterday I think I felt a delay in latency on my left side play button at times

i just rolled back and now im getting an error that database is incompatible telling me to update i cant even open version 3.4

how are we doing this i went back to 3.4 and its saying incompatible drive update to new version?
