Rekordbox Library xml doesn't even try to update

Did you Try rekordbox 7?

FYI

I tested with a XML from Rekordbox 7 and Engine DJ.

Windows 11

Works fine with no issues

Hey @milliGraham we had someone look at your rekordbox XML file to see why it won’t import.

The conclusion was that there are some tracks with special characters in the file tags that are preventing the import from working.

If you were to remove the album: Spectrasoul - The Mistress from Rekordbox, then re-export the XML file you should find that it will import into Engine correctly.

Whilst we would like to be able to fix this in Engine software I can’t promise the fix would come any time soon, so I would suggest using the workaround to this in the interim.

Thank you so much to you and the team for looking into this for me. I just changed the song titles to English and am in the process of exporting another XML file. I will let you know how it goes!

This is another topic for a different message board but I import all my music into Rekordbox from iTunes and that album is in English on there. I don’t how how or why it switched to Japanese I didn’t even know that it had been like that in my Rekordbox Library. Bizarre!

It worked now! Thank you again!

My only issue now however is the beatgridding from Rekordbox did not import with the XML. Is there any work around for this? All of my grids start at the cue position instead of the track start so almost every single track is off grid by a fraction of a second.

It’s been a year since this workaround, but my library it’s way too big to look for special characters, why there’s no fix to this already?

I don’t even know which especial characters to look for
