Real Time BPM Readout Required For Each Turntable

I’ve got the MK1 Mastersounds FX unit and I think you’re doing it a bit of disservice calling it expensive audio snobbery. It’s still cheaper than the EFX-500 was when it came out and it produces some nice sounds too, the filter for example is lovely in its own right.

I can’t comment on the auto bpm function however as mine doesn’t have it, I use Serato for when I want bpm synced FX.

I apologize, that was rude and totally hypocritical. I spend hella money on snobby gear. I was really just tryna talk myself out of buying this specific one.

I’m 100% Serato, playing 2-3 nights a week for 15 years. It completely solved any BPM related issues I ever encountered. I fix the grid bar by bar on salsa songs just for fun. I truly love Serato more than like anything in the world (though begin able to send midi clock out would be nice. It’s one of the strongest motivations for getting the Denon 1850 for me).

I’m trying to do the most useless thing in the world. I got the idea in my head that I wanted to see if I could beatmatch 2 live radios in real time, without a computer. Plug one FM radio into my S9 and play a song on the radio. And while the crowds listening to that, I’m scrolling thru the dial tray find another song (on another radio plugged into the other channel)

I found a guitar pedal that could do tempo change with pitch lock. I can slow down the radio, but can’t speed it up cuz can’t predict the future. I use looper to make my own 8 bar dj intros/outro edits . I have a pitch shifter to keep stuff in key (I still use the Camelot system in my head tho, makes so much sense). I love the denon 1600 cuz the matrix input allows me to put the same input on 4 separate channels and using isolators to make DIY acapella / stems. I’m basically tryna recreate Serato with random old gear. Bought a benidub siren clone for sampler

Anyways I do apologize. that was me just being a hater for no reason

No worries haha. If you ever fancy doing some mad un-quantised effects it’s a really fun box. Some of the crazy echo sounds you can make are really nice, I like using the small filter knob to take out the low end and then bring the echo in, it creates a nice fizzing sound thats got a good disco vibe to it.

Is Ableton Link in it yet? I need to check the setup and see if it is.

I just realized this needed to happen like two days ago! I got a Missing Link https://www.circuithappy.com/products/mljr/ which can connect Serato via Ableton Link (wireless) to any MIDI hardware. I DJ a lot with horn players, and they can adapt to my tempo changes fine, but their delays and loops always messed up, so now I control the tempo sync to my Serato. If I used the 1850 in shows I wouldn’t need the Missing Link, but when using turntables I think I’d miss the cue buttons on my s9. Maybe with CDJs in HID mode I wouldn’t mind so much. Still annoying for stems tho. Maybe I should hook my Dicers back up and use the 1850 lol

So for AutoBPM, no Ableton link yet, but you can send the MIDI clock via Bluetooth or wireless. Just cuz I no experience w Ableton Link, is there’s something else that could be possible other than what it can already do? Other than just the simplicity of integration of course

The Missing Link is cool and there’s been discussions regarding this in other places on the forum. It’s £240 in the UK which is about where a product that brings convenience like that should sit.

I like Ableton Link for its ease of use. Having it in Auto BPM would help get a vinyl deck synced nicely with some external sources. I know there’s apps that do this but having it in Auto BPM would be a nice addition. It would be a one-stop app for me.
