Prime Go+ and Engine DJ analyzing beatgrid incorrectly

Yes I may do that. I did send screenshots of others but I think they just used the one I sent them which does have piano as the first beat rather than drum.

I sat in the pub yesterday and streamed quite a few from Tidal where they weren’t analyzed properly either.

Will get back on it next week, gigs tonight and tomorrow this weekend.

Well, unfortunately that’s the problem after the fact, the frequency of incorrect analyses has been discussed here in the forum many times. Unfortunately, these bottle values are then also made available to other users for the streaming services, who then unfortunately have to do something about it or live with it. The biggest problem I had so far was with:

excerpt SongBPM.com :::

Can’t Fight The Moonlight (Dave Audé Mix) is an upbeat song by LeAnn Rimes with a tempo of 120 BPM. It can also be used half-time at 60 BPM or double-time at 240 BPM. The track runs 4 minutes and 2 seconds long with a B key and a minor mode. It has high energy and is very danceable with a time signature of 4 beats per bar .

Prime has analysed the song at 96 bpm if you want to call it that. And if such false results have to be used for streaming, you have massive problems, e.g. with SoundSwitch etc. There are no problems of this kind and I have tried many with algoriddim. well, it’s a German company. :slight_smile: https://www.algoriddim.com

The Algoriddim system isn’t flawless either. None of these auto analysis systems are.

There are plenty of posts on their forum from users complaining about wrong BPMs.

I replied on the ticket with a request for them to try Drop the pressure by Milo. Loaded that from Tidal on the player and although the first beats are all identical it picked the second one for the grid.

the tech support explanation simply doesn’t wash.

OK, seem to be getting somewhere now, they have acknowledged there may be an issue. Perseverence pays off.

I do see that the track starts on the second beat. In a case like this, your best course is to edit the beatgrid and place an anchor at the first downbeat. It must be something related to how Engine detects the beat. I will let the developers know in case it’s something that can be addressed in an update.
