It's crazy how outright bad this whole ecosystem has become

The way the software handle database needs work, for example you should be able to just read your sarato crate and just draw that crate to collection. The need to do some fine tuning to the desk top software. Also Engine DJ on the players need the Album search option to sort your library.

You know you can thick “album” in the search options in the players?

I am miss something but there is no option to sort by Album and to show the album tab. For a open source Caribbean Dj who play a lot of Reggae Riddim this is a feature that is much needed.

Playlists can be your albums - it’s just preparation on your part

Ah, but you said search in your previous post  ok, sorting by album could be handy in some cases. Although in the case I want to see a certain album I search for its name…

What is an “Open Source” DJ?

It means you can copy his DJ sets for free

Many others have been using stems with great success. It might be worth your while considering looking for instructional videos

The best thing about this thread, it’s a prime example of the openness of this forum, and how most things, regardless of how bad they are, stay in view. Not many other platform or brands would allow it.

I made smart playlists with Album starts with A etc some you can add extra rules like x, y and Z. Makes finding by Album a lot easier.

Pluspoint for FileMaker Pro! My daily job  and I love the SQL although it’s ancient SQL implementation.

More like a retrofit-to-satisfy-stubborn-developpers-implementation  all-in-all nothing compared to native SQL driven databases. And I know of at least one example where a script, written in the native filemaker fashion, despite being a tad more complex, was faster in execution than the same script using SQL to fetch the needed data… YMMV

But my point above was: if you want Filemaker to do SQL, maybe you should have used a SQL database to begin with. If you want to make Engine DJ into Virtual DJ, maybe you should have used Virtual DJ to begin with
