Do you realy think Denon is making changes at this moment???
My guess is they have a bunch of prime4 hardware wich is produced with crappy unstable firmware. And now theyāre fixing the ā ā ā ā out of it to get it reasonably stable at launch date (whenever that may be). And after launch they make a bunch of fixed wich can be updated by the users.
@denon: when iām right please send me a p4. I desserve it for being psychic
What it sounds like to me is that Denon continues to over-promise and under-deliver when it comes to product announcements and releases. MCX8000 users are still waiting for promised features (i.e. Stagelinq) to work 3 YEARS after itās launch and weāre still waiting for fixes to Engine Prime (improved BPM analyzation, etc.).
I own equipment from some of the other players in the DJ/sound industry and havenāt had or seen a fraction of the frustrations that Iāve witnessed in the Denon Forums.
I really do wish this was different as I like Denonās push for innovation. I think Denon is blowing Pioneer away when it comes to features but is failing miserably when it comes to the software/firmware side of making everything work as promised.
This is a problem with your setup otherwise we would all be complaining that our EP doesnāt load. I will look for your thread and see if I can help you in any way.
Engine Prime loads fine.
EDIT (adding more):
Saw your post and it is definitely isolated to your computer. Iāve noticed from other posts of yours, you are quick to come to an inaccurate conclusion. Again, Engine Prime installs and works and this is a problem with your windows computer IMO. I am sure someone will try help you on that thread soon.
I brought it back to life as i was also having issues but as he as stated and i felt the same ppl on these forums just think oh mine works fine its your computer instead of trying to give some helpful feed back.
@Canaris eventually came to the rescue for me and gave out some info that i tried and it finally worked but i did originally start a new thread on it where i got 50 views but 0 answers. I know a few ppl that use Denon products and Prime software and all of them say the software is lacking and as issues but cant be bothered to report because it works with Serato so they just use that instead making it harder for ppl that do have issues cos no one is reporting much.
The software is insanely buggy. Thereās no getting around that at all. There are a lot of coded processes in the software which are working that donāt need to be, such as re-scanning the entire database structure when creating a new crate, etcetera.
Now I read on FB Denon Prime Forum that P4 will first be shipped in July - If this is true I do not give Denons Announcement Much credit !!!
Hope this is NOT True.
The post saying July is from a specific re seller. Denon have made further comments on that thread stating that they are still hopeful to ship in about a week. They cannot control individual re sellers. they have said they will make an announcement as soon as it begins to ship. at this point contact your local dealer. I know itās frustrating having to wait, we are all in the same boat. I agree a firmware update by an end user is easy but I can also understand the Prime 4 is really the 1st of itās kind and Denon want it to hit the ground running. Itās unfortunate that it has clearly taken longer then was first anticipated, I have been lucky enough to see the unit and get a hands on look and it will 100% be worth the wait.
Thank you for you comment @kradcliffe but Iām afraid thatās simply untrue. Weāve responded to many comments across all our social platforms in regards to shipping updates, additionally there was an official statement posted last week.
Everyone within Denon DJ, right up to our CEO, are fully aware of the frustration being felt out there for those waiting for their Prime 4 and can only assure everyone that itās been our top priority to get the Prime 4 into DJs hands as soon as possible.
Prime 4 is going to CHANGE THE GAME and we want, and need, it to be the best experience possible to fulfil that out of the box for everyone that has ordered one.
We truly do appreciate everyoneās patience and can fully understand the frustrations being felt out there, Iāll finish off by saying DJs will not be disappointed.
