They’re plastic slip rings. Haven’t tried yet, but I imagine fabric slip rings causing issues.
Last time I overheard I pioneer product development meeting they were still trying to figure out what the internet was.
External power supply will always be needed as USB 5V/0.5A in USB 2.0 or 5V/0.9A on USB 3.0 is not enough to run the integrated 2 motors, controler and sound card.
That has nothing to do with the decision to not integrate a built-in power supply. Just check out the DDJ SZ and many other examples available. They typically do this to keep the size down.
Watching Mojaxx review, he said not having integrated power on a pro-level controller was a dissapointment but assumed it was done to keep weight and size-factor down. I totally agree.
I get why they called it the Rev, but to actually claim it as being a revolution??
C’mon now, Pioneer. Where do you insert the coal? lol
After watching all the videos, it just makes me excited for the prospect of a Rane One mk2 with a built-in screen running Engine OS.
I’m surprised this hasn’t happened yet
Sure…now I understand what you mean.
I agree with you.
Tipical Pio overpriced stuff
I must confess, those news REVs are a refreshing release and look sexy. Not a half-baked update aka CDJ-3000 or RX3 but some respectable level of engineering. Motorized wheels with integrated displays, kudos. However, the price for being still a ‘dumb’ software-controller is far too high. And the hype is exaggerated, as usual. Far less revolutionary than the SC5000 or Prime4 had been (and still are).
A mid-tier option for around $800-1000 is still missing. Might follow.
We also got keep tabs on numark because the motorized controller was once their domain. Imagine an engine powered ns7.
dual waveforms on the jog is neat…hope we get dual player waveform on the 5/6000m screen soon.
Poineer forced (bribed) a lot of leaked videos to be taken down citing there were confidential internal documents in them.
The video I linked was taken down. It was gaining a lot of views before the usual suspects had a chance to put their own review video up.
They were probably embarrassed by the typos.
Pioneer just don’t want to support onboard analysis, that’s why it’s not a stand-alone unit IMO.
Naw, this unit is putting out the feelers…IF this is a wild success, there will be a standalone unit with this functionality. Albeit, 5 years from now, and costing a kidney AND a testicle.
I don’t care, battle style is weird af.
Give me a vertical pitch fader any day.
Still think they missed a chance to add browse on jogs. NI did the same thing, but the mod community came to the rescue on that one.
