My backup unit is currently on loan, and next Saturday I will most likely have to use my Prime 4+ because the venue only provides a single power outlet and, for whatever reason, power splitters are not allowed there.
So believe me, I understand the pressure when you depend on your gear for real events.
That said, I don’t think deliberately trying to embarrass a brand or a product really helps anyone. In the end, it tends to reflect more on us than on the issue itself.
Constructive criticism, reporting bugs and expressing frustration are all perfectly valid. Many of us have done exactly that over the past weeks.
But I think we’ll achieve more by keeping the discussion focused on the actual problems and encouraging the manufacturer to address them, rather than trying to make the product look bad on purpose.
Believe me, I have always supported Denon DJ and even recommended the purchase to many friends! But now I would no longer recommend it to anyone! I participate in events with a lot of people! But with the problems I had after 4.2 I am really fed up, especially because with 5.0.2 the problems increased! The product instead of improving has worsened! It’s called consistency, if a product satisfies me I praise it but if it doesn’t work I do the same! This is just telling how things are to an audience that follows you to every event and then sees that the music continuously stops and believes that the problem is me! It makes me lose credibility
Agreed. The number one rule in entertainment is don’t call attention to your mistakes. I know it’s cathartic to blame Denon/Engine. Unfortunately, the audience may wonder if a DJ knows a product is unreliable, why do they choose to use it?
@djveleno you’re lucky to have a vocalist. Next time perhaps they can just continue a cappella until you can recover, as if it was planned.
I guess you have a plan B and can recover quickly from the failures? Given the current situation, using the Prime as a controller with Serato, djay Pro or Virtual DJ might be a good option. Having djay Pro on a phone all cued up on the main sound system is an easy swap over.

Downgrade to 4.2 and don’t take the updates! I really wonder all the complaints and all the critics on facebook. Are they real dj’s/entertainers with an audience? i think the most don’t even know half of their equipment. You refer to Pioneer. also Pioneers has simular problems, read the forums. So my conclusion, with a update there could be a problem but mostly its a owner problem. If you 've a stable version and you like it, DON’T UPDATE!!! Good luck everyone.
Sure, I can have a solution, but I enjoy showing that the equipment has problems more! And yet you, like others, are here blaming the users! It’s written in your post.
