I’m curious to see if this resolves your issue. =) Please report back if it does.
I only wish i had a crystal ball. I would help solve all of the world’s problems.
You mention 1GB database several times, but also 1GB of music (that would be small with 1000s of records). Which is it? I presume the first according to the topic title.
Several members like to know how many tracks are in the database? Some members have close to 100000 tracks with a working database.
I have around 80k tracks so trying to compare notes
I would have to check what my db size is though
I have db corruption issues during export to ExFat and Fat32
Hi, I formatted the drive to NTFS. The Engine DJ Desktop acepted the format and played the songs, but showed the warning symbol next to the drive.
The player rejected the NTFS format with a message to use exfat or fat32.
How did you get the player to accept NTFS?
The player does not read NTFS, so was kinda curious how @djliquidice meant that advice…
There are approx 27k tracks on the drive in flac format.
Not sure but 1gb database size seems a wee bit large for 27k tracks.
Is it the m.db file that is that size or the entire engine library database folder ?
All of my songs are extended mixes. Therefore tracks are from 5 to 10 mins long. Average track size is 40 to 70mb.
You seem to be on a mac.
Is there a difference between mac and the PC version of the software?
not that i am aware of.
they work the same and the content of the engine library folder looks the same.
The difference you may observe …it appears you have itunes, traktor and rekordbox library enabled.
-
itm = itunes
-
trm = traktor
-
rbm = rekordbox
I only have serato enabled in the settings.
It could be a battle of the format. fat32 vs exfat. Denon will only respond if an influencer on social media brings this issue to the public space. They should respond to data corruption claims as it questions the quality of their software in regards to being alpha, beta or production level.
Well , i cropped the directory just to show files. But there were tons of folders thanks to engine DJ. They came enabled out of the box. Ive always ignored these new features. Saying that they should not be an issue
I will leave this post as is, but I don’t understand this tone tbh…
Thanks for your input.
Im just going to run the Cleanup utility and hopefully creates some space for 6 months of work.
Hopefully there is light at the end of the tunnel
Reading the original post, I understood the process to be importing as they used the term “add songs”
Well there are limitations with the software and your imput was very much appriciated
