The sync manager is EDJ is so weird and off at times, I have been using Rekordbox for years and the sync manager is great, update a few lists, plug in, hit sync and you are done in a few seconds, with EDJ every time I change anything, even if it is just 1 cue on 1 track and then export using the sync manager, it takes so long as if it is rebuilding everything plus I notice my 1TB is filling up more and more like its duplicating folders and music or something on the flash drive,
I have 700GB of music and the drive now shows there’s 950GB which I obviously don’t have. I don’t get what is going one with this trying to setup for gigs week to week with the Rane S1
I noticed the same thing today when trying to resync my USB drive.
I have the impression that it doesn’t send all the tracks during the initial export and then sends the missing ones during a second sync, which could explain the increased storage space, but that’s just a guess.
It’s true that Engine sometimes behaves rather strangely during syncing.
definitely strange but tis sending all on first export because the music is 700GB and the drive has 700GB on it but the more I sync changes the more adds to drive and now I still have 700GB of music but 950GB on the external, makes no sense
Keep in mind that Engine stores a number of additional data files for your tracks, such as waveform rendering, database files, and cover art. And obviously, the more tracks you have in your collection, the more storage space this additional data will occupy.
i synced the database 3 times in a row making no changes at all, just left sync manager open and synced 1 after another and i lost 50-100MB on each sync which makes no sense being i made no change at all
