Severe screen freezing issue on Denon SC LIVE 4 (Happens on boot / Audio keeps playing)

Hey everyone,

I’m experiencing a really frustrating and worsening issue with my Denon SC LIVE 4, and I could really use some insights.

Occasionally, the touchscreen completely freezes, and this now often happens immediately when I power on the unit.

What still works: The audio keeps playing perfectly, and I can even navigate tracks using the browse knob (I can hear it working in the background).

The issue: The screen itself is totally frozen right from the start. If a system pop-up happens to be on the screen (like a Wi-Fi disconnection notice or any other notification), the whole UI locks up, and I can’t dismiss it with the touchscreen or the hardware controls.

The recovery: A simple reboot doesn’t always fix it anymore. Sometimes it takes multiple hard restarts just to get the screen to become responsive again.

I’m running Engine DJ. Has anyone else experienced this specific UI/screen freeze right upon booting up? Is this a known firmware bug related to system notifications on startup, or am I looking at a hardware/motherboard issue that requires a service repair?

It could be something as simple as a screen flat cable needing to be re-seated in the connector.

Multiple cases of that happening on smaller inMusic units like the GO and Mixtrack if you search the forum.

I’m also encountering this issue. I just picked up the SC Live 4 yesterday and updated it to the latest firmware today, and instead of any audio playing, I get stuck on the Wi-Fi screen with no way to access anything.

I have done a firmware update through Engine DJ’s download page on my laptop and it has not fixed the issue.
