Hi, I have a problem with the Numark Mixstream Pro+. The pitch fader isn’t working. It’s set to zero at the lowest point. It’s basically 1cm from the bottom end. Then I use that remaining 1cm to change to 4, 8, 16%, etc. There’s no way to reset it. It’s not locked by sync and does the same thing even if I change USB, format, or use Tidal. Plus, it tends to move on its own. It changes the percentage even if I don’t touch it. Sometimes it does, sometimes not. I tried blowing, tried WD40.
- Compressed air to clean any particles on the carbon fader track (blowing on the fader manually will not help, needs a can of compressed air or compressor)
- Special fader cleaning spray, not regular WD40. Using WD40 will only accelerate dust collection so if initial cleaning did not get rid of dust particles if will only make it worse.
- WD40 does have a special cleaning spray for electronic called “WD-40 Specialist® Contact Cleaner”, that might be a good choice but:
Method is: Air > Cleaner > Air (to get rid of excess cleaning solution and particles that the cleaner dissolved from the fader track) > Lubricant
Deoxit also has cleaner+lubricant combo so you can use it for both roles with diff in quantity of use.
And sometimes all of this is for nothing because moisture+dust (esp if there was a liquid spill that was untreated because “it works after drying”) has corroded a part of carbon track and you need to replace the fader anyway.
