Prime Go+ third deck workaround? Most stable device, am I the only one? but

I love djing with prime 4+ and sc live 4

But, Sometimes when space is limited I end up DJing directly on the prime go+ and it just feels way smoother than the others — browsing tracks, overall performance, even Wi-Fi and lighting.

What I’m missing is a proper 3rd deck for layering beats under stems or triggering effects.

Current options:

  • MPC Live 3

  • SC Live 4

  • Prime 4 Plus

  • iPad Launchpad (no precueing aux) ■■■

I can’t believe no one is searching for a solution. I’m trying to find something since day one, so I’m reaching out for the best way to add a third deck cleanly?

It’s a 2 deck system, it will never be a fully featured 3 deck system. If you want a 3rd deck then you can vote here to get the Denon team to look at adding back the 32 beat roll effect feature.

In case you don’t know.

Thanks so much. Didn’t know about that feature. The sample section would be great, when it was in sync.

Here is my workflow for 4 Channel mixer: I put different drumloops and effects in an 110bpm track. Save the loops and Cues to trigger when needed. For example deck 1 is playing deck 2 is my next track. I turn off the drums track 1 and trigger a drumloop on deck 3. it’s similar to Traktors „Remixdeck“

Take care

As the Prime units all have Ableton Link, you can use any other Link enabled device to play in sync with your Prime unit.

Most Akai MPCs have Link (but not the new MPC Sample). Native Instruments Maschine+ has Link. There are also many small iOS apps that have Link.

Thanks for your reply. I use a Launchpad to layer drums—it works, but it’s a bit of a struggle. Even when the loops are synced, they’re often slightly off-beat if the beatgrid isn’t perfect. I can set them to retrigger and launch them manually, but then they won’t loop automatically, so I have to keep retriggering them.
