Powered Sub and Passive mains

My apologies if this has been discussed before. Rather than searching in YT, I thought I would come to the ‘Auracle’. I would like to know how do I connect a powered sub, to my system. I will also be using EV 15s as mains using a separate amp. Using a Denon 1850 mixer. I dont have many ‘outputs’ left on mixer (Booth 1/4 inch, Unbalanced RCAs, Digital Out RCAs) Any suggestions would be most appreciated.

You’d use your XLRs, probably into your sub, and then your subs link direct to your tops, that’s how our setup works anyway.

Forgot to mention that mains are passive…

The high pass outputs from the sub would go to the input of the amp powering the tops.

Drive out of the amp into the subs and if you have another channel on amp run to the tops.

Or run xlrs to the subs and rca into amp. For tops.

Preferred method

Run into the subs then on the thru line take it into amp and out to the tops

Can you give the model name and # for;

Your speakers (tops), subwoofer and amplifier. Only when you give this info you can receive proper help.

Sorry, yeah I’d missed the passive tops part. Same principle though :wink:

Standard way of doing it. Doesnt matter on make
