I am writing this because I am completely losing confidence in my Mixstream Pro. Over the last few weekends, the unit has crashed multiple times mid-gig, which is the absolute worst thing that can happen to a DJ.
My Setup & Usage:
- Device: Numark Mixstream Pro
- Firmware: Engine OS 5.0.1 (Build 6ea877984d)
- Main Source: 100% Streaming via Tidal (WiFi)
- Storage: An SD card is permanently inserted to act as a cache/buffer. It has been in the slot for years and is never touched or removed.
The Problem: The crashes happen completely randomly, usually after a few hours of playing. I never experienced these kinds of freezes or sudden crashes before this firmware version. The unit just locks up or reboots out of nowhere without any warning or clear trigger.
My next steps: To troubleshoot this, I will completely remove the old SD card from now on. Instead, I am going to use a brand new, empty USB stick to act as the cache/buffer for the streaming data, just to see if the old card was causing the issue.
Since I rely on this device for my gigs, this situation is becoming unacceptable. I really hope that a new update will be released very soon to fix these critical and severe stability bugs, so I can trust my gear again.
Has anyone else experienced similar stability issues with Tidal streaming on 5.0.1?
