# MC6000MK2 - Dodgy Fader

Hi, can someone advise me please.
I have something wrong with my left slider. When the unit is turned on and linked to my computer, the left display is jumping BPMs without me touching the slider. If I drag the slider up or down, the BPMs jump up and down at that point. I have tried manipulating the slider with small movements right up and down its length, but that hasn’t solved the problem. Do I need a new slider? Would a clean benefit it? What should I use. Any help appreciated. Thank you.

I’ve tried some spray contact cleaner and let dry per instructions on the can.Its called Deoxit I believe before opening up the case and doing any kind of surgery. Good luck

It might be that there’s some particles I. The path of the pitch control, stopping it from making a good solid contact at any resting position
You could try to get the particles out using a hairdryer on cold blow, cans of compressed air, or a really good solution sometimes is to support the unit securely upside down and move the pitch control all the way up and down slowly repeatedly for a minute or two, allowing loose particles to fall out.
Party popper debris, dust, and more recently and in particular, those titanium sparkular machines , can leave a lot of crap inside fader slots.
If you gig beside pools or coastal locations regularly then salt corrosion can take its toll on the overall longevity of moving parts too.
