Who would be interested in me turning this into a proper tool that runs on Windows and Mac and can provide display data to two LC6000s in 4-deck mode?

[![](https://img.youtube.com/vi/UyqwdA1uOm4/maxresdefault.jpg "LC6K Waveform Display Engine - "Hello World"") ](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UyqwdA1uOm4)

Depending on the amount of data, I get 2–4 FPS; pitch, sync, and lock all work and are updated in real time. Only BPM and key remain static, since these aren’t updated by the D2 web server based on pitch—instead, they display the information from the track data.

With this tool, you could control the LC6000’s display on a Mac, translate/replace MIDI messages (i.e., Elapsed and Remaining Time MIDI → Jog LED Ring SysEx for the LC6000), assign MIDI channels (since the LC6000 doesn’t have IDs and they’re all named the same in Traktor), and control the LC6000’s display.

I might even throw in my 2-deck MIDI mapping (per LC6000) on top of that.

Before I sit down for a weekend and program this out (and do it for Windows while I’m at it), I wanted to ask who actually uses the LC6000 with Traktor—or who might be interested in it.

I’m definitely keeping my fingers crossed that the InMusic NI merger will finally bring an SC7000M with native Traktor display support—it reminds me of the SC2900/SC3900 with the HC4500 display mod and native Traktor support, including hybrid timecode MIDI.

Everything is reverse engineered from the Miixxx Reverse Engineering Thread.

Best regards

Assuming you’re using my API client ( [GitHub - ErikMinekus/traktor-api-client: Send live track data from Traktor Pro to a web server · GitHub](http://github.com/ErikMinekus/traktor-api-client) ), you can calculate the current BPM by multiplying the track BPM by the pitch 🙂 And it does expose the actual key in the `resultingKey` property.

Anyway, looks great! I don’t own LC6000s, but even exposing the waveform data outside of Traktor is interesting to me.

Yes i do ofc, thanks for that, it works great and thanks for that info!

I am not able to expose it^^, its generated from the AudioFile via FilePath and then exported into that 198x198.png with Trackname, Artist etc. The other values are “overlays”, for Deck Letter, BPM etc. I am saving the PNGs on the Disk so i can reuse them to save CPU power, i dont know if thats good or bad, for big libraries it could be a problem, for max. performance it seems to be good.

Who would be interested to test the “beta” Version (you need OS X + Traktor Pro 4 + LC6000).

Hey @Arne

I’ve tripped over your post a few days ago, ‘cause I’m not using Traktor I have already forgotten. I see it has grown since…

Your tool is a quiet impressive achievement. Some cool RE or use of the driver itself?

 ![image](https://community.enginedj.com/uploads/default/original/3X/3/3/3378fa879de72ddeaac714e6f47b6f4a05deccc0.png)

I own a LC6000 + Prime4+ and I’m suspecting the Jog-Displays are (almost) one of a kind.

You have mentioned to be able to update the region (1) about 0.3-0.5s with an image. Do you stream an uncompressed image as whole or would it be possible to do it in chunks?

And did you also manage to animate the region (2) ? If yes, does it have to be continuously pulsed or is it just updated when the state/values are changing?

With best regards and respect for your work to date,

Florian

P.S.: Sorry for this many edits… I’m failin this WYGIWYS editor…

After reading the intro a 2nd time, i noticed that i missed the most of the introduction…

I can only find… indications within the forum to outside links e.g.

[Denon LC6000 Screen Support - Community](https://community.native-instruments.com/discussion/3646/denon-lc6000-screen-support)

Did you use some already existing Traktor-Libs? I found indication, it may be also done on Windows by Serato - serato\_device\_akaisdk.dll

The wheel seems “spinnable” via USB-Midi-Controller?

Well, I’ve been using Traktor for many years, and for the past year I’ve also been using it with the LC6000 (in addition to the D2s) on an (Intel) MacBook. And of course, I’d be thrilled if the displays finally showed some meaningful content. Even just the track’s static cover art would be enough for me.

If I—or we—can help you with this in any way, let us know. ❤

Eh @Padder or @Arne ,

do you accidently have the SysEx-Image-Transfer for sending the images 😇 ???

I’m messing around with the idea of an “Expansion-Controller”-Expansion as hommage to engine and havin’ the art work on the wheel would be kind of nice.

Currently I don’t have enough motivation to reverse engineer that piece of code… ✌

Hi Florian, as far as I can remember, this is exactly what NI is NOT revealing. And no, unfortunately I have absolutely no clue how to get my hands on it… sorry…

I just asked Gemini (paid version) this question in German:

“Ich möchte wissen anhand welcher SysEx Inhalte die Software Traktor Pro 4.x von Native Instruments die Track Cover Dateien an externe Geräte (Controller o.ä.) überträgt.”

The answer spoke for itself and also matches up with several other sources, including some from this forum …

Last comment from Gemini:

" **Fazit & Ausweg für Modder**

…

[[1](https://community.native-instruments.com/discussion/43024/traktor-s8-midi-sysex-command-informations)]"

Sounds not really easy …

Hi Arne,

Awesome, I am very interested in this project! I recently bought two LC6000 and as many others assumed the deck select was re-mappable, but in all supported software you are bound to the clumsy deck select system. It really breaks my flow when mixing with 4 decks. For this reason I am willing to switch back to Traktor after a long time, but only if these displays can show which deck is playing and _if_ it is playing (so artwork or color, and a playing ring or otherwise). This is what I am used to with the Pioneer DDJ-1000 and is great for four deck mixing. (I wanted 4 band EQ, so have a Xone 96 now, and therefore can’t use the DDJ-1000 anymore)

Will your tool work with Traktor 3 as well? I’m willing to upgrade, but only if I can use your tool…🙂

I would be glad helping you out with beta testing.

Cheers,

Joram
