I’ve had a run with the onboard Stems which is activated by swiping left on the song and selecting STEM. The process takes place in the background as you’re playing tracks. It takes approximately 2 to 3 minutes for it to completely process a song. This may vary depending on how the size of the song being process. The quality is more or less the same as when stems are pre-processed via engine desktop. Some songs you can definitely hear elements of the song such as drums when activating acapella, then there are some songs where the quality is great. Pretty happy to now be able to use the unit as advertised, and I can come back over from Serato to full standalone mode.
Anyone have release notes? Curious what else was fixed or added
I’ve been looking for release notes and can’t find anything.
Whats about Denon ?
Denon don’t have a unit with that CPU in it yet. So far it’s only in two MPCs and a Rane.
Engine DJ 5.0 has officially launched, bringing industry-first features and significant performance enhancements to both standalone hardware and desktop preparation software. This update redefines the standalone workflow, offering more creative control and visual clarity than ever before.
World-First: On-Device Stem Rendering:
For the first time on DJ hardware, the RANE SYSTEM ONEcan now render stems directly on the device—no computer required. This groundbreaking feature allows DJs to isolate vocals or instruments on the fly.
- **Note:**The stem rendering process takes a few moments to complete before stems are accessible. It is important to avoid describing this feature as “instant” or “real-time.”
Vibrant RGB Waveforms:
Users can now choose between the classic tri-band waveforms or the new high-vibrancy, full-color RGB waveforms. This feature is available across all Engine DJ devices and the desktop software, providing a modern look and better frequency visualization.
Enhanced Library & Workflow Tools:
-
**On-Device Track Star Ratings:**Quickly rate tracks from 1 to 5 stars directly from the Library or Performance views to stay organized while you play.
-
**Redesigned Source Menu:**The Quick Source selector and full-screen Source Menu are now connected, delivering a more streamlined navigation experience.
-
**Browse Encoder Customization:**You can now choose whether turning the Browse encoder opens the library or zooms the waveform.
-
**Desktop Import Assistant:**Easily migrate your music library from Serato, Apple Music/iTunes, rekordbox, or Traktor using a new guided, step-by-step workflow.
Perfect for Demos:
To help you experience the power of 5.0 immediately, several models now ship with pre-rendered demo tracks for stems. This allows for immediate testing of stem isolation without an external drive or laptop. Supported models include:
-
**RANE:**SYSTEM ONE
-
**Denon DJ:**PRIME 4+, PRIME GO+, SC LIVE 2, and SC LIVE 4
-
**Numark:**Mixstream Pro+ and Mixstream Pro Go
In addition to these headline features, version 5.0 includes dozens of performance improvements, such as expanded beat ranges for Reverb effects and faster music source switching.
Gonna be a great summer. Love Engine DJ
Very nice so far. works flawless on the SC6000. The RGB waveform is also nice. Thanks Denon DJ.
the sc6000 does realtime stem swiping left? I saw the RGB update and it was ‘neat’ . . but I’m still in a position of ■■■ does this update do for me? realtime stems or analysis? I would have loved streaming library ability to sort by bpm/key ect. . . not so much. I was so excited to play again and I used to play a lot. I can’t base not playing on a sub par update. . but this is still that unless you own a Rane One. Honestly - the company that bought RANE is a Joke. I have a MP2015 that is my baby that doesn’t work exactly as it should and Rane went to ■■■■ after the new company stopped caring. I guess. . the world needs a better dj company. Rane (Denon) isn’t it. Pioneer has their flaws and they ■■■■ as well. Who will step up as I have money that I want to spend and it’s not on their crap. There are enough DJ’s that get paid enough money that should say ‘unacceptable’ and make these companies (yes ‘make’) them work together. You can’t say the right people aren’t in the right jobs. The right people are in the right jobs with horrible management and a lot of people that don’t demand enough. Digital DJ tips - guy - he’s great - get with the program and demand with enough people that angry or moody (repeating what he said as I hear it). Called in the flow - as you should be when you DJ. Ultimately. . . we all need and deserve more with the money we spend on this gear. Sub par
No. Only the RS1
EDIT because I can’t read LOL: Pre-render on all other hardware. Prime 4+, PRime GO+, SC 4 Live, Mixstream + & Mixstream Pro GO
LC 6000’s aren’t connecting to the SC 6000 after upgrade to 5.0 ANyone else? I saw 1 post on FB with this issue
No. Only the RS1. All the other products require pre-rendering on the desktop software.
On board stems on the SC 6000?
I do not use STEMS.
I have the same issue (LC6000 not connecting to SC6000 after upgrading to 5.0.0). Saw someone mentioning it in the YouTube comments as well.
