I would like to know

why engine will search in the folder “my documents” directory for missing files It makes no sense!

You will be surprised some people store their files even in the download folder

Or the worst one, on their desktop

yes, but it does not search in downloads, nor on the desktop anyway he can’t find anywhere

it would be good if we could tell him where to find it

The Autorelocate missing file is still like version 1

I agree it needs more work

Such as

  1. Search a specific folder or drive
  2. Aggregate / Group together all missing files that can’t be found Etc etc

I was always curious of this used filename matching, metadata, or if it’s examining the checksum of the audio portion of the file and creating a match against that.

A bit off-topic, but also something I would like to know.

I’m pretty sure this is what mediainfo gives back as MD5 sum of the unencoded content, which is a confusing name because I’d call it “MD5 sum of encoded content”, as stripping all metadata from any file results in the same value returned here for the same track, but maybe the name is correct and two .flacs compressed at different levels would return the same result. Either way, this value seems to be tied to the audio portion of the file and nothing else.

Chaotic neutral.

Chaotic evil I guess would be in the p0rn folder

or /dev/null
