Moved over to Engine from Serato and loving it. Some of these features may already be available but ChatGPT and I can’t figure out how to do them. On a Mac.
Here we go then,
Could there be some simple upgrades to the Hot Cue markers to really streamline workflow. Being able to change the default colour order. I colour code and always work left to right and have to change every single colour every time. The green and blue are useless as you can’t see them.
Change the order of the Hot Cue taps left or right along the bar if you put one in the wrong order.
Being able to actually move the hot cue point with the curser on the waveform or to beat jump it with a function key.
I would love to create more than 8 cues and I never use Roll or Slicer so would love to be able to customise the buttons to have 16 Cues on these two and then keep Stems on the shifted cue button. I used to have the MC6000 MK2 midi controller and managed to remap it very easily. I understand that the Prime isn’t a Midi but could this be done in the software settings somehow?
If no more hot cues can be added for tech reasons could ‘non-active’ cue marks be put in the waveform just to remind me of where things are and when I want to base drop etc.
I would find a pitch bend button in the desktop engine helpful as if I’m editing beat grids it’s sometimes helpful to beat match into something else instead of just the metronome to get it right. To rub it in if you’ve already set cue points you then have to delete and restart them in time etc.
That’s about all I can remember for now but loving the software just think it could be a little better with more user input.
Thanks engineer dj team.
