# Drag and drop no more possible in Engine DJ

Drag and drop tracks in a computer folder is no more possible in Engine DJ !
Why ?
This is very usefull to manage playlists or to put tracks on an USB key.

I have no issues with Drag and Drop on Engine.
What makes you think it’s impossible?
Can you please post a video showing the issue (ideally recorded straight from the operating system and not via a phone)?

I don’t talk about moving tracks or, something else, _inside Engine DJ_ 🙂
I create a folder on my desktop, then i select some tracks in Engine DJ and move thoses selected tracks _outside Engine DJ_ to my folder on my desktop.
I’ve tried yesterday but… not possible anymore !
That was on a Windows PC, not tried on MacOS.

You are saying that you are telling Engine that your songs are in one place and now you change that location. Do you expect Engine to automatically know what you did outside of the application?

No… For example, i want to drag on drop trakcs selected in Engine DJ on my pendrive to listen in my car.

Ok, i’ve tried another time : Works one track by one track but not with multiple tracks selection.
I love updates, especialy when working things turns wrong…

Great to hear. You may want to post a bug report then.
I can replicate this exact behavior on macOS. Single records can be dragged from the app and dropped to a folder in Finder without issues, but when multiple records are dragged from the app and dropped to Finder nothing happens.
I never thought to even try this XD

I confirm this broken behaviour. I use it all the time to drag to other apps and Windows Explorer. It still works for single files in Engine DJ 4.0, but not for multiple files anymore (Windows 10). It used to work in 3.4 though.

This is a disaster. It’s been literally the only way for me to export my prepped playlists and get ready for a night playing on a Pioneer USB and I’m just now finding out after upgrading to 4.1.0.
Denon PLEASE FIX ASAP. I can’t drag and drop out of the Engine DJ app unless it’s a single file at a time, this is on Windows 10.

I don’t think it’s a disaster. If you depend on playing within the Pioneer ecosystem and you don’t keep an up to date rekordbox database, then it’s definitely on you.

It’s incredible that this can’t be done, just select all the tracks in a playlist and export them or drag them to a folder in Windows… I have to go through them one by one. DENON, WHY ARE YOU DOING THIS? 😡

how is this not fixed yet??lol
such a basic feature every piece of software has, I like to take my main set for the night and drag it to a program like Apple Music app to have as a backup and I can only drag one by one, if I select all tracks I cannot drag to any program

Sick of having to drag-and-drop like this is some iPad puzzle game for kindergartners…
Give me a proper Right-Click “Add/Import Files / Directories to Playlist” when I right click a Playlist.
