I just bought Denon SC Live 4, and at first the screen says Engine DJ 4.0, I enter wifi password and screen goes black. While the screen was black I manage to play songs on deck 2 (so the device work). I try restart, then software update via PC to Engine DJ 5.0.1 but screen all the time was black and again after restart. Any solutions? I order it from Thomman.de (EU) and I’m not in EU, so returning it back will be difficult and expensive to me.
I would reach out to Thomann anyway. They have an amazing customer service and a lot of very helpful and passionate people work there.
I was there last week, absolutely great experience from their sales reps, showroom people, managers and others. Very good team of professionals.
I can relate as happy Thomann regular.
I was one of their first SC Live 4 buyers (when it came out in 11/2022) and I am still happy with zero issues, leaving the very stiff performance pads aside. (Preparing a long-term review video about this puppy.)

When you say black screen, is it completely blank, or do you get the EngineDJ boot logo still? If so, which version is it showing on the bottom right corner during the logo?
Hi, it is completely black (with just back light), no Engine DJ logo, when I try update no Update screen etc. All the time is completely black and this happens less than one minute after I start the device, and I think should be treated by the shop as DOA (Death on arrival) and to replace it with a new device.
That sounds like a DOA issue, I would definitely contact Thomann directly. Their customer service has always been great whenever I have had a query.
Also you can be experimenting a bootloop caused by the failed update try .
you can go out bootloop with a easy combomix of buttons that are : encoder+back+ forward. Press them at the same time when you turn on the sc live , if that work the device will go into update mode , in that moment you can try putting in again the upload
I try update but also, when device is in update mode the screen is black. I try also installing older verions
I can only vouch for Thomann as well, after doing tons of orders there for the past 20’ish years - I only ever had very positive communication with them
