Problem Summary

Since updating to version 4.3.0, editing track metadata in the library (such as Genre, Comments, or BPM) frequently causes the software to freeze and behave unpredictably.

Observed Symptoms

  • The application freezes for several seconds after editing a field (e.g., Genre, Comments, BPM).
  • After freezing, the UI still appears interactive, but changes are no longer saved.
  • Occasionally, all tracks disappear from the playlist grid.
  • Recovery requires one of the following:
    • Waiting several seconds,
    • Switching to another playlist and returning,
    • Or in more severe cases, restarting the application entirely.

Reproduction Steps

  1. Launch Engine DJ 4.3.0 on Windows.
  2. Open a playlist containing multiple tracks.
  3. Edit the “Genre” or “Comment” field of a track.
  4. Repeat the operation for multiple tracks.
  5. Observe freezing and UI inconsistencies.

Impact
