Problem Summary
Since updating to version 4.3.0, editing track metadata in the library (such as Genre, Comments, or BPM) frequently causes the software to freeze and behave unpredictably.
Observed Symptoms
- The application freezes for several seconds after editing a field (e.g., Genre, Comments, BPM).
- After freezing, the UI still appears interactive, but changes are no longer saved.
- Occasionally, all tracks disappear from the playlist grid.
- Recovery requires one of the following:
- Waiting several seconds,
- Switching to another playlist and returning,
- Or in more severe cases, restarting the application entirely.
Reproduction Steps
- Launch Engine DJ 4.3.0 on Windows.
- Open a playlist containing multiple tracks.
- Edit the “Genre” or “Comment” field of a track.
- Repeat the operation for multiple tracks.
- Observe freezing and UI inconsistencies.
Impact
- Makes metadata editing unreliable and, in some cases, unusable.
- Significantly affects music preparation workflow.
